The structural design of the Aphrodite Hills Golf Course and Resort was born in 1997 as a project of SASAKI Associates Inc. in collaboration with Cabell Robinson, acclaimed golf course architect and designer. Much attention was given to the ecological impact that the Golf Course would have on the area and also taken into account were the archaeological sites that were subsequently discovered, and which had to be preserved.
Construction of the Aphrodite Hills Hotel began in early 2000. WATG Design Architects were the architectural firm responsible for the Hotel’s innovative design, integrating all the surrounding elements – Golf Course and Real Estate in a way that incorporated the essence and history of the landscape, whilst meeting international standards. The Resort private residences have been designed by acclaimed local and international architectural firms. The properties were built with the use of natural colors that complement the surrounding environment.
In October 2002 construction of the Aphrodite Hills Golf Course and Clubhouse was completed. The 18-hole spectacular championship Golf Course was built on two plateaus separated by a dramatic ravine. Construction of the Resort roads was also completed this year. By 2005 all infrastructure of the Resort and four residential complexes were delivered. Aphrodite Hills Hotel opened in March 2005 and very quickly became a luxury lifestyle haven for international travellers.
In 2018 the 18-hole Championship Golf Course attained the highest recognition in golf – the PGA National Cyprus. IAGTO (International Association of Golf Tour operators) named Aphrodite Hills Resort “2018/2019 European Golf Resort of the year” at the prestigious annual IAGTO Awards.
